What is the OIG Exclusions Database? It’s a list curated by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of individuals and entities that are banned from providing care in (and receiving payment from) federally funded healthcare programs. Any healthcare providers that receive federal funds are supposed to check all employees against this database, otherwise they could be liable for tens of thousands of dollars in fines. Even worse, they could be endangering the patients and residents under their care.
